Star #1: Service Star #2: Ambiance - only because we got a table in the patio (inside is meh). If we hadn't had a table outside, let's see let me do the math. Two stars only. The patio is also not the most beautiful thing in California, by the way, but at least is unique and mostly quiet. Star #3: Wine + SOME of the food.
'Some' being the key word. We got an excellent charbroiled octopus with potatoes to start.
That octopus was the honeymoon stage with Il Cielo. I ordered penne with the funghi porcini sauce that they use to make a rice entree. This happened because our sweet waiter suggested that if I didn't like the option of rice, they could do the same sauce over pasta. The 'sauce' tasted mostly like a watered down gravy.
So I had to accept my friend's idea to exchange plates since I hadn't like mine. He'd gotten the wild boar pappardelle, loved the texture of the pasta, loved the sauce in it but I put all the boar meat on the side. Shredded meat in pasta is not my cup of tea.
Went to Il Cielo last Saturday for the very first time and had a great experience. I LOVE the setting, it is so quaint & beautiful. A great spot for a date night! First off, our server was amazing! He was very attentive & friendly, he made it a true experience for us. As for the food, we started with the Toscana salad and the Burrata.
The toscana salad sounded and looked super simple BUT ended up being SO delicious! The burrata was good too but not the best Burrata salad I've had. For mains, I had the night's special which was the lobster stuffed ravioli in a creamy truffle sauce and my bf had the spaghetti. His spaghetti was cooked perfectly but the sauce was a bit underwhelming. My ravioli smelled & sounded amazing and don't get me wrong it was good BUT not anything I'd sit there and think about or crave later. The lobster on the inside was dryer than most lobster ravioli that I've had and every bite tasted the same so I stole tomatoes from my bf's spaghetti to give it more flavor.
I SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST THOUGH.the flourless chocolate cake was INCREDIBLE!!! My God, was it good. The cake was moist and had a raspberry filling and the outside was chocolate ganache, you really can't go wrong w it. Over all I really enjoyed the restaurant and will definitely return again soon. I'm very disappointed with this restaurant. Being labeled the 'most romantic restaurant in LA' comes with high expectations, which I'm sad to say were not met at all.
We visited Il Cielo in celebration of our two year anniversary in November of 2016, and I have to admit the service and food at Sprinkles Cupcakes at 11 pm was better than this restaurant. The ambiance: The inside of the restaurant is very nice, beautifully decorated with ivy along the brick walls and beautiful lights lining the large transparent canopy. The service: Our service was not up to par at all. Our waiter would not make eye contact with us when speaking to us, and did not speak to my girlfriend directly at all (completely disregarded her). Halfway through reading their specials (while fixing his belt and looking around the restaurant) our waiter stopped talking to us and proceeded to speak to his coworkers and giggling. This was extremely unprofessional and I had to get his attention back on us twice. The food: For the price the food was not worth it at all.

You can receive much better quality food at many other restaurants in LA and Beverly Hills for a significantly cheaper cost. Would not recommend to anyone to visit. Although the food was good, it was over priced for what they offered and definitely not worth the service. Overall the ambiance and the view of the garden is what you really want to go there for.
I had to make a reservation earlier in the week to get a good time for dinner on Saturday in the garden area. Once you get there, there's still a bit of a wait but they have a nice bar area next door so you can grab small bites or drinks to kill some time.
We got the seafood pasta and the chicken. The chicken was kind of salty but was pretty tasty. The seafood pasta looked good, but was pretty bland. Overall I think the food would've deserved more but our waiter neglected us often and always had a condescending attitude. I forgot his name but I think it was Nino. Easily the most off putting thing of our meal was the service.
I loved it here! I always wrote this place off as a cheesy spot because it's always showing up on those 'most romantic restaurants of LA' lists and they offer '80's movie things like rose petals on your table or whatever (btw, don't do it, they charge you a premium for just some rose petals on your table - we didn't do it but a ton of tables around us did). Came here for one of my bday dinners and we split a salad, I had the special (a pasta with lobster and white truffle sauce) and he had the lamb chops. The complimentary bread, food, and service were all perfect. Dessert was a heart-shaped chocolate mousse cake. I really enjoyed my meal here and I definitely recommend! It's a really cute atmosphere with all the fairy lights and chandeliers.
Definitely get seated out in the courtyard when you come; it's much better than the inside. Picked the restaurant for my birthday dinner and based on reviews and my love for all things truffle.
The ambience was beautiful and romantic. We were seated on the warm covered patio which was dimly lit by string lights. The wait staff was very friendly and pleasant. Everyone we came in contact with had a smile on their face and they were happy and helpful. I first ordered the Il Pomodoro which was a super delicious creamy tomato based soup with crab. For my main, the chef created a rich truffle pasta for me that was not on the menu.
It was simple but so yummy and satisfied my craving for that earthy truffle taste. My boyfriend ordered the lobster pasta which came with a full lobster on top! Very beautiful presentation. A birthday well spent! I would make the trip from OC to LA again any time for this place!
This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in LA! As soon as you walk in you feel as if you're in a different world!
This Il Cielo is absolutely gorgeous inside! It's a great place for celebrations, dates, anniversaries or proposals!!! They offer a romantic package that comes with a long candlestick, a bottle of champagne and rose petals for your table. The staff really go out of their way to accommodate requests and make your special occasion a spectacular one! The staff is also friendly and very professional. On top of all that, the food is incredible!
Everything from the cheese plate, to the main course, to the dessert! Tip- If you plan on dinning here during the weekend or a holiday, make sure you make the reservations way in advance!
Especially for Vday, you may want to book it a month before! The most romantic restaurant I've been to so far! Had dinner here with my brother for our 6yr anni and we got the romantic package. For an extra charge, they'll set up your reserved table with rose petals, candles, and a cake platter. I got the tortelli di burrata.
Though it was an extremely small portioned meal, it was probably the best tortelli I've had. The pesto sauce was not overwhelming at all, the whole thing was light but still tasty. Valet is $10 or there there are some street parking as well. Ideal for dates. We came here for our anniversary which happened to fall again on Super Bowl Sunday! The restaurant is lovely on the inside! I can absolutely see why it is called il cielo - it looks like a converted house on the inside and the main dining area (there is an inside place with some tables) but the main dining area is in a sort of courtyard - but it's completely enclosed with a nicer canopy type covering and is strewn with lots of romantic string lights and chandeliers!
Our one notice was that the music seemed quite out of place - they played kind of corny romantic music - and dare I say almost rock and roll-esque?! Not quite something I would expect at a fancy restaurant.
Anyway, the food was great! Here's what we had: A prosciutto and imported mozzarella from Naples - this was the special app and was so delicious! The cheese was a tad more salty - which I loved and just more flavorful than traditional mozzarella! But the prosciutto was out of this world amazing!!! I loved it!!!
And I'm sure I gobbled up quite a bit! A charred octopus app - I'm not a huge octopus fan but this was nicely charred - maybe a slight bit chewy or tough if you had a slightly larger piece but when cut into smaller pieces it was perfect! The sauce that was also on the dish was really tasty! Lobster Risotto - it was really good but it was missing something - maybe salt? I have to say it was a little bland and I wish I would have gotten the wild boar pasta instead. This was the one dish that I thought was a miss.
The veal - this was Pump's dish and while I don't eat veal - I did take a tiny taste! I have to admit it was very delicious and so moist hand juicy! The mascarpone mashed potatoes were absolutely heavenly!! I know I snuck a bunch of bites off his plate!:) Our dessert- we opted for the heart shaped flourless chocolate cake!
It was so cute and so delicious! It also had raspberries baked within the cake and I just loved it!
So delicious!! All in all, it was a great restaurant!
I would definitely recommend and come back! Love you Pumpie! The venue is absolutely gorgeous - when you walk in it's like a different world. If possible, sit on the patio so you're surrounded by all the string lights! A great place for a celebration - come dressed to impress. Code Alarm Catx4 Manual. The food is delicious, but pricey for sure.
We had the mushroom risotto, tortellini and asparagus soup. You definitely pay a premium for the ambiance, but it's worth it to splurge every now and then. The scene here is generally the older crowd - if you're looking for a hip, trendy restaurant, this is not the place for you.
But if you're looking for a sophisticated, romantic and quiet meal with a loved one, this place is perfect. Street parking is definitely possible in the surrounding residential area. Overall, I probably won't come back. The food was very good, nothing spectacular, and the ambiance was a little too stuffy for me. BUT if you're looking for a restaurant for a special occasional this is definitely your place.
I just personally would rather spend the same amount of money at a trendy, more lively restaurant. My husband made reservations for us at Il Cielo for our 1 year wedding anniversary. What a beautiful restaurant!
I fell in love with the vintage Italian decor in the outdoor patio, which included beautiful lighting and a romantic ambiance. We were seated in a private candlelit table with rose petals laid out in the shape of a heart.
The entire setup was gorgeous. We ordered a selection of Italian meats to start, along with the Il Cesare, both of which were delicious. For our main courses, I ordered the spaghetti and my husband ordered the featured dish, veal with truffle sauce. The spaghetti sauce wasn't too overpowering, and had a spicy kick to it. It was house-made with fresh tomatoes, and was just right. The veal was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the truffle sauce provided a nice added flavor to the meat with its creamy base.
After dinner, they brought us the loveliest chocolate cake for our anniversary. It was very rich, with a chocolate shell outside, and a moist chocolate strawberry filling.
I was already stuffed from the pasta, so I unfortunately was only able to take a few bites. Overall, we're glad we chose Il Cielo to celebrate our special night together. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for great Italian food and a romantic night out. Free Download Midi Karaoke Dangdut Koplo. Come for romance, stay for the food! Boyfriend and I came on a causal week day ignorant of the fact it's regarded as Los Angeles' top rated romantic restaurant. And boy does it ever!
We dined on their patio area and the cozy decor was apparent right away. A large white canopy helps ward off too much sunlight, succulent trees lining the patio create privacy, and the tremendous service will make you swoon. Our waiter was kind enough to give a private tour of the restaurant after our delicious meal.
My boyfriend learned long ago that good food is the key to my heart. I ordered the Risotto con Frutti di Mare (arborio rice and various seafood) and the boyfriend chose the Prix Fixe Lunch option.
The lunch special is $25 (excluding drinks) and offers a choice of soup or salad and one entree. He tried the Zuppa De Lenticchie (lentil soup with mint and baby squid) which ended up being consumed by the both of us. For his entree, he chose the Pesce Del Giorno (grilled/bread crusted fish with zucchini puree and a fennel and orange salad).
The fish entree was ordinary, nothing to be amazed about. My risotto was marvelous and the various seafood all tasted fresh. Here's where everything got super romantic. After our entrees were cleared, I was surprised with the most beautiful and delicious dessert (see review for picture). A heart shaped flourless chocolate cake layered with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries 'Cuore Di Cioccolata.'
The presentation of the dessert is breathtaking and you can personalize it with a fresh rose and loving message to your significant other. Day or evening, lunch or romantic dinner.this is a one of kind restaurant sure to sweep your loved one's off their feet.
