Can you click on f12 before it goes to boot password? The F12 Boot Menu allows you to choose which device that you would like to boot the computer's Operating System from by pressing the F12 key during the computer's Power On Self Test, or POST process. Some notebook and netbook models have the F12 Boot Menu disabled by default.

Reseat the hard disk, if this doesn't work you need to test the hard disk another way. Remove the hard disk and connect it to an USB hard disk adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer sees this as an external hard drive and you can open the folders and files then the hard disk is OK and the fault is the disk controller on the the 4115c laptop. If the hard disk is not detected then the hard disk is faulty. You need to install a new hard disk, install Windows and the laptop's device drivers and programs to get a working laptop again. Does anyone know where i could get a bios update or if not i would try reinstalling the old one. I turn on the laptop and all i get is ba long beep nois and it wont pass the post boot unless i press F12 and then select the hard drive does anyone know anything about this, any help would do im sure a bios update would sort it but there isnt one at the tech guys site.
