I finally bought and installed the DVD system I have been wanting for some time. I got it off Ebay for $640 with two wireless headphones. The install went fairly well except for the large amount of time it took to get the mounting plate centered and in the right position. The player has a wireless FM modulator so I did not need to run RCA cables or buy a Pie adapter. I was alittle worried that the sound would be lousy, but I was very wrong. Driving around for the last few days testing the unit has gone very well (my girls love it!). I think that I have a bigger smile that they do though.

It is a very heavy unit though so I mounted it to the roof cross beam where the stock unit mounts. So the only real hard part was running the power, acc, door, and ground wires. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who is in the market for a all in one player DVD combo. The picture is great, and no need to mount a separate DVD player and FM modulator. I have included a pic, but it does not do it justice, the picture looks much better in person. Shinjon, not really I wish I would have moved it back a few inches. Both my kids for now are in the second row and I tilt the screen as far toward the front of the van as I can.

If I am in the second row It seems like I am looking up at my laptop. I think that a few inches back would have been better but I was concerned about it getting in the way of the first row.

About 80% of my rearview is blocked when the screen is down. I can see everything I need to except a very small car, I only see the wheels of that one. I am used to using my side mirrors, and have not had any problems yet.

If you have an addition CD Changer attached to your OEM radio/head unit than the unit I had purchase is the way to go because it will allow you to switch between the CD Changer and three other devices. If you have don't have an addition CD Changer attached to your OEM radio/head unit than all you will need is an Auxiliary Input Converter. It will cost you $49 plus S&H. As far as FM modulators go I am very impressed at how well the wireless one in the unit works.

I did not want to spend an extra $70 bucks when most of the time my kids will be listening to movies through headphones when they are a little older. You do have a point (extra $70 & listening through the headphones).

However, my wife and kids don't like listening through the headphones for hours at a time. The wireless headphones that we have are relatively heavy, due to the electronis and batteries that it carries. And after just 30 minutes having to wear these headphones, they become very uncomfortable. The thing that bothers me most about my FM modulator is it just was not loud enough when we are cruising on the highways. In fact, everyone that I had talk to that is using a FM modulator says the same thing. I am not saying your FM modulator is not any good, because I don't have your FM modulator, but my FM modulator as were as all my of friend's FM modulator had the same issues.

I thought about doing an all in one unit, but decided that the rear view mirror restriction would be too great. After hearing that your RV mirror is blocked 80%, I am glad I went the way that I did. Regardless, at least the kids will be happy.

After all that was the primary objective. You can see my install in my sig. Its funny how we watched the same movie as the 'test bed'. OurFunBus, I saw your install. I also saw your comment 'Don't worry I wasn't drinking', that was funny.
